The biggest enemy of Turkey and Russia, Ukraine, is constantly approaching, and this could lead to more tensions between Ankara and Moscow. Especially after a Turkish drone was launched at an artillery position by pro-Moscow separatists in eastern Ukraine.

Burak Pehlivan, president of the Turkish-Ukrainian Business Association, said that Turkey has become the largest foreign investor in Ukraine. According to the businessman, there are currently about 700 Turkish companies operating in Ukraine, and the value of Turkish investments exceeds $4.1 billion.

Trade ties also extend to national defense, the first time in recent days that the Ukrainian military has fired an artillery stake in eastern Ukraine with a Turkish-made drone. A Bayraktar TB2k drone destroyed a Soviet-made cannon.

Ukraine agreed with Turkey in the summer to buy fifty drones, and talks are underway to produce an unmanned aerial vehicle suitable for reconnaissance and measurement of strikes in Ukraine.

As Turkey approaches Ukraine, Ankara also enjoys close military cooperation with Russia, and the Turkish military has purchased a Russian air defense system, despite protests from NATO members.
