(Motorsport-total.com)-The Rally World (WRC) is about to stop again in North America in 2026: a multi-year contract was already signed for a crowd in the United States of America. The final acceptance of the calendar now depends on the approval of the FIA Automobile Society.

After 1988, Olympus gathered at the time, this will be the first time in nearly four decades that WRC is raising guests again on the American soil. The new range will be held on gravel routes in the US state of Tennessee, and has been confirmed on the edge of the Canary Islands Rally.
Return to the United States is part of a WRC strategic plan to expand global sport. Last year, WRC promoter has already provided a “clear road map” to implement an American event, including direct financial investments and active support in the Juvenile Organization.
As part of a media tour, Simon Larkin, the director of the event at WRC, said that a contract has been completed with Rally Usa and that a pilot (candidate event) has already been done. Another test for this year is scheduled. The goal is to provide a WRC calendar from 2026 to July, which can expand to more than 14 events.
“Our main strategic goal is the US Rally, which is a common goal for everyone in the service park,” said Larkin. “We are working extensively to implement the project successfully. However, it must meet the standards in the institution and security and in the course the highest requirements of WRC.”
Discussions with the National Car Sports Authority and other American organizations are nominated to meet their requirements.
No more than the new expected countries for 2026
The interest in the new WRC events is still great, including from Indonesia, Ireland and Scotland. According to Larkin, new places are unlikely to be added in 2026 as well as the United States of America.
“We are currently providing sufficient contracts and work on projects for 2027,” Larkin continued. “New events should not be hasty, but they should be constant sustainable and strategic.”
