The other day Xiaomi announced that it will present the Civi 2 on September 27, and in addition to the announcement, they also showed the back of the smartphone. Now, more details have arrived about the device, which will come with dual front cameras, and the units will be housed in a somewhat familiar capsule-shaped slot at the top of the display.
At the top of the screen, aligned in the middle, we can pay attention to the capsule-shaped cutout, inside of which there are two photo recording units. One will be a 32MP wide angle camera, and the other will be a 32MP wide angle camera.
If the look reminds you of the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max models, you’re probably not alone. In the case of Apple mobiles, this part is completely interactive thanks to the so-called dynamic island solution, so it is not yet known if Xiaomi is planning something similar.
Before anyone mentions a revolutionary innovation, it’s worth noting that this won’t be the first Android smartphone to have a camera cut like this, we’ve already seen it from Huawei, Samsung and Realme, among others.
The manufacturer revealed that the primary camera of the Xiaomi Civi 2 will be equipped with a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 sensor, the same module is also on the back of the Xiaomi 12, but in the case of the Civi 2, the aperture value will be f / 1.8, f / 1. Instead of 9.
According to the company, the Civi 2’s primary camera can allow for 101.8 percent more illumination than the main image recorder used in the previous generation, and the image capture speed has increased by 144 percent. In the case of night photos, the same speed increase is 246 percent, if we believe the manufacturer. A particular function of the “Bionic Eyes Atmospheric Portrait” has also been mentioned, but what exactly this entails is a mystery.
Thanks to one of the images published by Xiaomi, it turns out that the Civ 2 will also come with Dolby Atmos support, and there will even be small flashes around the aforementioned front modules in the upper frame, which will provide additional lighting when taking selfies.
The manufacturer has not talked about this, but according to rumors, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset inside the smartphone will do the math.
