One of the document’s most important findings was that after surveying nearly 1,400 young people between the ages of 15 and 19, they “need a place,” that they need a community space that can perform multiple functions and provide multiple services, with an appropriate professional background. .
After Andrássy Úti Társaskör finished at the end of 2019, there was no place reserved by the municipality for high school students, they knew this gap had to be filled. Several sites have been discussed. According to the material submitted to the city council, young people did not set exaggerated expectations: there should be a clean, orderly, safe and easily accessible environment, where there is wireless Internet, and where they can meet and hold events.
The Youth Roundtable recently held a meeting in Széchenyi Park, in the Visitor Center, and Gabriella Pócsi, President of the Körösök Valley Nature Park Association’s Work Organization, noted that there was space available on the top floor of the newly built West Wing.

There is a club room of 34 square metres, which also includes a tea kitchen and a desk of 12 square metres with some storage – these will be available for young people at all times. In addition, they can use Réthy Hall and Great Hall four times a month, as well as the occasional patio.
In the coming months, the spaces will be arranged and somewhat transformed, and the youth community scene will open its doors on October 3, with the opening of the 30 Days of Csaba Garabonciás – so that the news will immediately reach many young people. The first three months will be a trial period, and they will gain experience.
The Community Development Foundation of Táliber was tasked with managing the square at a city council meeting. The NGO – which provided 1 million forints for this task – participated in the preparation of the Youth Concept and in the Youth Survey.
The head of the foundation, Maria Zotter, immediately said that young people would immediately enter a communal space when they reached the first floor, and that there would be many small spaces at their disposal, which they could use freely, without anything. Accountability, but at the same time under controlled conditions.

Since young people do not like sterile places where everything is set on edge, they will create a ruined pub atmosphere with old furniture, armchairs and sofa sets, transforming and arranging them. He said that the tea kitchen, which has the right to exist, is important, because a communal coffee or tea can create a community.
During the process, they will rely on volunteers and those who perform community service, and I would like to convince young people to manage the youth community landscape, where the foundation plays a kind of mentoring role.
There was agreement on the choice of site
Mayor Peter Zarvas emphasized that in choosing the site, they consulted with NGOs dealing with youth, the student government in the city, as well as the student mayor and deputy mayors, all of whom supported the fact that a community space could be located in the Körösök Valley Visitor Center. Chancellor György Paláncz, on behalf of the Fidesz-KDNP faction, said that after the end of Andrássy Úti Társaskör, there was a need for a place where young people could meet, where they would be served, with the appropriate professional background and supervision.
On behalf of the Kiskaba immigration faction, d. Bella Zigiti, Chair of the Youth and Sports Committee, emphasized: Young people will get a permanent place, and through the Táliber Community Development Foundation that manages the community landscape, and its president, Maria Zsótér, there will be specialists they can turn to.
