Eighty-three young innovators from secondary schools applied to participate in the second round of the 33rd National Science and Innovation Olympiad (OTIO) with outstanding natural science and engineering projects. Young talents developed compelling cases, solutions and research projects and submitted them by the deadline of April 8. By the end of April, the judging panel had decided which plans were among the best, and which qualified for the other finals, as well as the European Junior World Champions.
The National Science and Innovation Olympiad, an innovation competition organized by the Hungarian Innovation Association to recognize students' creativity and innovation skills, aims to draw attention to the importance of science and technology, as well as train young people to use their knowledge in all areas of life and their creativity. 2023/2024. vi Orszgos Tudomnyos s Innovcis Olimpira 193 young people submitted their applications. In the first negotiation round, the young people participated in professional interviews, during which the jury members were able to learn more about the awards, the individual awards, and the feasibility of the projects included in them.
Young scientists submitted their complete and detailed scientific works in the fields of engineering and natural sciences for the second round of the auction until April 8, with a total of 83 young scientists and 58 projects. A committee of academics, professors and economic experts makes decisions on the winning prizes until the end. Participants in the second round of OTIO proved with their results that the future of innovation is in safe hands.
This event – a two-day public presentation and also an event – will take place on 31 May 2024, in the BME Q arena, where selected students can present their research and projects to the jury and to the audience. On May 31, the first day of the year, the Hungarian Innovation Association awaits middle school classes to bring the wonderful world of science closer to young people.
Over the course of two days, a jury of specialists evaluates the work and achievements of the students, and after conducting personal interviews, the winners and award recipients are selected. The djkiosz festival is scheduled to take place on June 1, 2024 at the blHZ Event Center, where the country's most talented djkiosz will be able to receive recognition.
The 33rd National Science and Innovation Olympiad is held under the chairmanship of the Minister of Culture and Innovation, with the support of the National Research, Development and Innovation Office and with financial support from the NKFI Fund.
